We are thrilled to share our latest campus addition—a stunning mural at 430 State Street, created in partnership with Colorful Bridgeport and painted by Ramiro Davaro-Comas! The mural features vibrant plants symbolizing our students’ growth at AJLA, where they thrive in a nurturing environment. During his time with us, Ramiro connected with students through an engaging artist talk, enjoyed lunch in our cafeteria, and joined them at recess.

Students eagerly gathered to watch his creative process unfold as he brought the mural to life. They observed how he began by applying a base color to each panel, then layered colorful plants on top, leaving the letters “AJLA” blank before later filling them in with crisp white. Ramiro took time to engage with the students and answer any and all questions. They watched with great enthusiasm, captivated by the way he transformed the blank wall into our colorful new mural!

In addition to creating the mural, Ramiro collaborated with some of our young artists on a special painting project. Together, they worked on a series of collaborative paintings, blending their unique styles and ideas into shared works of art.

We are deeply grateful to Colorful Bridgeport and Ramiro Davaro-Comas for making this mural possible. We invite everyone to stop by and experience it in person. It reflects the energy of our school and the collaborative spirit that drives AJLA.
