At Adam J. Lewis Academy, the 2023-2024 school year was filled with moments of joy, hard work, and remarkable growth.
We are deeply grateful to our wonderful community of parents and supporters, whose dedication enabled AJLA to provide enriching experiences and transformative learning for our students. Please enjoy some of the highlights from this past year!
A Year of Growth and Celebration
Field Day
At our inaugural AJLA Field Day, the sense of community and camaraderie was palpable as students engaged in good hearted-competition. Eight mixed age teams consisting of students PreK3 through fifth grade participated in a variety of events ranging from relay races to a water balloon toss. All students displayed tremendous sportsmanship and amazing teamwork.

The Met Cloisters
As part of their study of Medieval Times, fourth and fifth graders took a field trip to the Cloisters where they gained a deeper understanding of the culture and daily life of that era. As students wandered through the stone archways and lush gardens, the intricate tapestries and illuminated manuscripts came to life before their eyes, connecting their classroom learning to tangible artifacts of the past.

Turf Field
The addition of a new turf field to AJLA’s campus this year brought an exciting wave of enthusiasm among students and faculty alike. The vibrant green turf served as the backdrop for soccer, tag, tumbling, and friendship circles! It also was used for school community events and our first ever May Day celebration.
A Year of Growth and Celebration
Wally's Adventure
A spirited collaboration among second graders blossomed into a captivating picture book; students penned and illustrated an informational text tracing the journey of Wally, a water droplet, navigating his way through the water cycle. Wally's journey began in the clouds and led him down the Pequannock River and through Bridgeport until he reached the Long Island Sound. Students radiated with a sense of accomplishment, as published authors and illustrators, and every second grader received a hardcover copy of Wally’s Adventure to take home.
