Calendar + Hours
AJLA runs from end of August to beginning of June, five days/week, except for holidays and vacations.
Drop off for all grades begins at 7:45 am for any students not arriving for breakfast.
PreK attends from 7:45 am to 3:30 pm
Elementary students attend from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm
AJLA also offers an after-school program (After the Bell) from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. ATB is available for all students from PreK4 and up. We also offer a six-week summer camp.
Age Requirement
Most children begin AJLA in our PreK3 classroom. These children must be three years old by June 1 of the enrollment year, and they must be toilet trained.
Breakfast, Lunch + Snacks
Breakfast is offered daily starting at 7:30 am.
Homemade, healthy lunches are prepared for the whole school.
AJLA also provides snacks in the morning and afternoon, in accordance with the Department of Health nutrition guidelines.
Financial Aid
Financial aid is provided to all families who cannot afford to pay full tuition, and is determined by income and need. No child will be denied admission due to an inability to pay.
Weather
AJLA follows the Bridgeport Public Schools in determining when to close for inclement weather. School closings and delays are sent via Class DoJo to parents as well as posted on the BPS website and on www.ctweather.com.
